Fix-ed Kicks Off With A New Cohort For A New Year For Tackling Community Issues
A New Year brings us fresh opportunities. Fix-ed has welcomed a new cohort of year ten students into the program for what is going to be a productive year.
Students have already begun diving deep into the human centred design process, whilst also starting research on the global waste problem, repair and opportunities in our communities.
This has included a ‘tear-down’, where students dismantled e-waste and pulled it apart. This allowed students to understand not only how products are made, but how they could be better designed for a circular economy. Students also learnt about materials, assembly methods, good design principles and how these issues combined affect the larger system.
